Booking Terms and Conditions
*We believe in going about the world with decency, kindness, humility, integrity, responsibility and compassion and we’re betting that’s how you do things too. So, the things below apply, but we doubt any of us will need to fall back on them.

These are the Terms and Conditions that will apply to your booking. Please read them carefully as you will be bound by them.

These Terms shall constitute the entire agreement between the Women Escape (also referred to as W.E.) and the Client relating to the subject matter herein, and shall constitute a binding agreement. There is no verbal or written representation, warranty, prior agreement, or description of services, other than as expressed herein.

The contract and booking is made with, and services will be provided by, Women Escape. By booking a retreat, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions that govern the relationship, the cancellation policy and limitations of liability. These Terms and Conditions affect your rights and designate the governing law and forum for the resolution of any and all disputes.

All persons wishing to make a booking have carefully read and understand the Terms and Conditions that follow. By making a booking with Women Escape, you accept on behalf of yourself and all those named on the booking, including person(s) under a disability to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

A booking is accepted and becomes definite only from the date when Women Escape sends a confirmation email. It is at this point that a contract between Women Escape and the Client comes into existence. Before your booking is confirmed and a contract comes into force, Women Escape reserves the right to increase or decrease retreat prices. Women Escape reserves the right to decline any booking at their discretion. The person or persons named on the booking are hereafter referred to as the “Client” or “Guest”. All bookings are made with Women Escape, which sells the retreats described in this website.

**Please note that Women Escape only offers retreats and related activities to women 21 years of age and over.

W.E.’s Retreat Booking Team will contact you regarding your completed registration to confirm your participation in your selected retreat.

Booking your escape

You can book at any time after our bookings are launched. On booking either a $500 deposit or full payment per person is required and your booking is not confirmed until we receive this deposit or full payment. When we receive your deposit or full payment, we will send you an email with links to the Escape Participant Intake Form and Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement, which upon your completion and our receipt of these we will send you a Booking Confirmation email. The contract between us comes into existence at that time. You undertake to pay for the holiday you have booked and we undertake to provide you with the holiday we describe on our website.

If you make a booking on behalf of others as well as yourself, we shall take it that you have the authority of each of those other people to enter into the contract on the basis of these booking conditions and that you and they have agreed to be jointly and severally liable to us. If we are unable to accept your booking, we will return your payment to you. The balance of all retreats is due at least 30 days before departure. We will send you a reminder before the balance due date. If you are making your booking within this period, full payment will be necessary at the time of booking.

Where the cost to us of any part of the retreat increases, we reserve the right to pass on that increase to you and to change the price of unsold retreats. See below under “surcharges and refunds.” You can give us your personal details, insurance, special requests, medical conditions, next-of-kin and passport details by completing a form we shall send to you.

You can pay by either giving credit or debit card details or by making an electronic bank transfer via Paypal or you may mail a check. All payments to us made by bank transfer will be made to Maire: Massage for Life dba Women Escape. When paying via PayPal, it may show up as WOMENESC or WOMENESCAPE on your credit card or debit card statement. Please ask our Booking Team for bank account details if you wish to complete a bank transfer offline. The last date for payment of the balance of the cost of your retreat will be due to us at least 30 days before the Retreat Start Date. We will tell you that the last date for payment after we have confirmed our acceptance of your booking. If you do not pay the balance before the last date for payment, we reserve the right to treat your booking as canceled.

Surcharges and refunds

The prices given on our website are calculated at costs current at the time we fixed them. If costs rise or adverse currency exchange rates apply, you agree that we may increase prices at any time to a maximum of 5% of the advertised cost of the Retreat. It is unlikely that if costs rise we would actually pass on this increase to you and would instead absorb the cost ourselves, but in the unusual case we do this, we shall tell you the costs that have risen, and the percentage by which they have risen.

No matter what the increase, we shall not increase the cost less than 30 days before the departure date.

A minimum number of participants are required in order for a Retreat to be viable. In the unusual event that we cancel a Retreat, we shall return the full amount of your deposit or other payment. W.E. reserves the right to change the accommodations venue if a minimum number of participants is not met, and is not responsible for third party cancellations of reserved venue. In this case, the alternative accommodations will be similar accommodations but could differ in overall venue size, location and other factors.

Deposits + Cancellations

You may book a retreat with a deposit (down payment) until 30 days prior to the retreat start date, after which full payment is required to secure your spot.

We notify you of the balance due date after your deposit has been processed. We understand that unexpected events can arise that can affect your plans. We recommend all our retreat guests purchase travel insurance to protect their purchase. We recommend the comparison sites and where you can compare and purchase a variety of plans from a number of companies.

Booking early ensures you a spot in a retreat. But if unexpected events arise and you have purchased the appropriate travel insurance coverage, you can rest easier knowing your investment has been protected.

All cancellations must be in writing and are subject to the following fee schedule. Our cancellation policy is what it is as very we are a very small, single owner company with a limited amount of trip spots, so each cancellation can drastically affect business–it could make or break it.

Tour deposits: Fully refundable up to 120 days before the tour start providing that we can rebook your tour spots before the 120 day period starts. Any cancellations after 120 days: deposits are non-refundable.

Tour costs: 60 days or less to date of departure -100% of the full trip cost will not be refundable as we find it almost impossible to rebook a tour at this stage. Any penalties to you can be avoided by taking out trip insurance.

If you cancel more than 60 days before the retreat begins, you may request a refund (less the $500 deposit–if canceling more than 120 days ahead you will receive your deposit back if you or W.E. can find a replacement for your spot).

  • Only the person who made a booking may cancel and the cancellation must be in writing and phone. If you do not hear back from us do not assume we received your cancellation. Call us to ensure we received it at 360.473.7516. The cancellation takes effect from the date at which a written or email notification reaches our office.
  • You may transfer your booking to a friend and have her repay you for your spot. That person must meet any conditions which may apply to the booking.
  • In this case of transferring your booking, please notify Women Escape that you wish to make this change have your replacement contact us so that we can verify that she meets the conditions and signs the waiver. Then we will accept her in your place. Women Escape is not responsible for finding someone to take your place.
  • If circumstances force you to leave the Tour early, you will have to bear any additional costs yourself.
  • In the event that the customer decides to downgrade their accommodation after monies have been paid, and if there are downgraded accommodation spaces remaining, W.E. will most likely refund the difference but the customer will not be entitled to any refund. If the customer wishes to upgrade and there are upgraded accommodation spaces remaining then the new price will apply.

Pricing + Fees

All retreat prices are quoted and payable in USD.

W.E. is not responsible for any fees incurred due to currency exchange or fees charged by your credit card/bank for processing funds in another currency.

Medical Conditions + Special Requirements

The Client must notify W.E. in writing during the process of booking (on your registration form) of any medical conditions, pregnancy, disability or any other mental and or physical condition which may affect fitness to travel and/or any medical condition. Failure to notify W.E. may result in the Client being refused travel. Failure to notify W.E. of any such condition that results in cancellation will have full cancellation fees to the Client. Some trips may be unsuitable for Clients due to age, mobility, disability, pregnancy or physical or mental conditions. It is the Client’s responsibility to check prior to booking.W.E. may refuse to carry pregnant women over 24 weeks or Clients with certain conditions. W.E. is not required to provide any special facilities unless it has agreed to do so in writing. W.E. will do its best to meet Clients special requests including dietary, but such requests do not form part of the Contract and therefore W.E. is not liable for not providing these requests. Medical facilities vary from country to country and W.E. makes no representations and gives no warranties in relation to the standard of such treatment.

Final Payment

For all retreats, the payment of the final balance payment is due 30 days prior to the retreat start date.

Once You’ve Paid Your Full Retreat Payment

  • Full retreat payments, or any monies paid by payment plan, minus the deposit, can only be guaranteed a refund if you notify us 60 days or more before the retreat begins. For this reason, we recommend you purchase travel insurance. At and (no affiliation) you can compare details and select from a variety of travel insurance policies from a number of providers that meet your needs and, depending on selected coverage, can reimburse you for the pre-paid, non-refundable portions of your booking if you experience a covered loss due to an unforeseen event such as illness, flight delays or inclement weather.
  • Alternatively, you may transfer your booking to a friend (and have her pay you directly for your booking.) That person must meet any conditions which may apply to the booking and must be approved by WE.
  • In this case, please notify Women Escape that you wish to make this change have your replacement contact us so that we can verify that she meets the conditions and signs the waiver. Then we will accept her in your place. Women Escape is not responsible for finding someone to take your place.
  • If the final balance is not received by the due date, then your booking cannot be guaranteed and WE reserves the right to cancel your booking and forfeit your deposit.

Cancellation of a retreat by Women Escape

W.E. reserves the right to cancel any trip for any reason, but will not cancel a retreat except for Force Majeure, unusual or unforeseen circumstances outside the WE’s control. When a retreat is canceled by WE before the agreed date of departure for any reason other than the fault of the Client, the Client can either:

  • Transfer her deposit to another retreat taking place within the next 12 months, or
  • Receive a full refund of all monies paid to W.E. under the contract as soon as possible.

W.E. is not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that the Client may have incurred as a result of the booking such as visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, non-refundable car parking or other fees, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment, etc. Where after departure a significant element of the trip contracted for cannot be provided, WE will make suitable alternative arrangements for the continuation of the trip. If it is not possible to provide a suitable alternative or the Client reasonably rejects any suitable alternatives, WE will provide the Client a refund of unused retreat portions. Where a significant alteration or cancellation occurs which is not due to Force Majeure or other circumstances beyond the WE’s control, WE will in some circumstances offer compensation. Significant alterations do not include the substitution of a transportation method, modification of itineraries, change in hotel accommodation or meal offering.

You will want to pack light. Baggage handling for one suitcase (please keep it close to airline regulations for overhead compartment carry-on items) and one additional bag (e.g. purse, small backpack, computer bag) is included in the retreat price. Due to limited vehicle capacity this single bag should have dimensions not exceeding airline carry-on regulations and not exceeding 50 lbs (22.7 kg).

All W.E. trips do not include national or international airfare.

Travel + Health Insurance

Trip cancellation insurance is highly encouraged and W.E. must have a copy of the insurance paperwork prior to traveling. If you decide to decline purchasing travel insurance, W.E. needs this in writing stating that you accept full responsibility. This will protect you, W.E., its owners and team W.E. members if you need to cancel your tour for any reason. Again, W.E. is a very small company and each cancellation has huge repercussions for us. You should be covered for the duration of your trip to cover trip cancellation or interruption, injury, death, airline tickets, lost baggage and money, liability and medical expenses. W.E. suggests inquiring your own insurance company, AAA, or American Express, CSA Travel
ProtectionTravelSafe Insurance, or Travelex Insurance. You can also compare plans at

Women Escape highly recommends Clients obtain travel medical insurance with a minimum medical coverage of $100,000 while traveling with WE. This insurance should cover personal injury and emergency medical expenses including, but not limited to, helicopter evacuation, air ambulance, and repatriation.

Our priority is to keep you as safe and happy as possible throughout your Women Escape Retreat. Unfortunately, we can’t always control everything and so it is a must to have travel insurance in place if you are going to join us on Women Escape Retreats. We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance from the moment of your holiday booking. This will protect you in the unfortunate case of something arising before you travel to your Women Escape Retreat to ensure that you are covered for any lost costs and flights. You should also check with your doctor that you are sufficiently fit and healthy to undertake any other physical activity we have arranged that you choose to participate in or you may arrange during your holiday. Please check with your own doctor that you are adequately fit. If you experience any injury or discomfort during any activity organized for you, then you must stop immediately and advise your Women Escape team accordingly.

It is strongly recommended the coverage be extended to include cancellation, curtailment, and all other expenses that might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay or inconvenience occurring to the Client during travel. W.E. shall have no liability for loss, theft of or damage to baggage or personal effects. Personal belongings lost or stolen while unattended by the client in public lounges or other public areas, whether on board a train, bus, or other modes of transportation, publicly owned or operated by W.E. or elsewhere, are not reimbursable. Losses due to ordinary wear and tear, and other acts of God are not reimbursable. W.E. cannot accept responsibility for and in no event shall be liable for loss or damage of valuables or other articles left in or on facilities used by W.E. such as hotels, huts, or other accommodation, expedition vehicles, or any other mode of transportation.

The Client acknowledges that the cost of W.E. retreats do not include insurance and that the Client has been advised to obtain separate coverage at an additional cost. When obtaining travel insurance the Client must ensure the insurer is aware of the type of travel to be undertaken.

It is up to each individual to ensure that their insurance is adequate for the retreat they have booked. Any claims concerning matters for which you are insured must be directed to your insurers. If you participate in any extra activities outside the retreat such as Surfing, Horseback Riding, Cycling, Trekking, Kayaking etc you must have insurance that will cover these activities. The Company is not liable for non-compliance to this and the passenger accepts responsibility for obtaining any travel insurance required for the holiday and the activities you wish to do while on holiday.

Any information or advice provided by the W.E. on matters such as permits, visas, vaccinations, climate, clothing, baggage, special equipment, airlines, and travel connections etc. is given in good faith but without responsibility on the part of W.E., and the passenger accepts responsibility for obtaining any necessary visas and travel documents required for the holiday.

Evacuation Procedures and Costs

Women Escape’s Retreat Leader, local guides or other representatives decisions will at all times be final on all matters likely to affect the safety and well-being of the trip. We reserve the right to prohibit any traveler from continuing on a trip with no right of refund if, in our opinion, that traveler’s actions pose a threat to the safety of others, to the wildlife, themselves, or if the traveler’s actions and/or behaviors are harming the enjoyment of the trip for others.

Evacuations costs are to be covered by the person being evacuated.

Travel Documents

Valid Passport: The Client must be in possession of a valid passport required for entry, departure and travel to retreat destinations outside the U.S. and for non U.S. Clients the appropriate passport/and or visa for visiting the country in which the retreat will be held (passport and/or visa must be valid 6 months past the return date). All visas, permits, and certificates including vaccination certificates (if required), insurance policies, etc. are required for the whole of the journey. The Client accepts full responsibility for obtaining all such documents, visas, and permits prior to the start of the retreat and is solely responsible for any adverse consequences resulting from missing or defective documentation. Any information or advice given by W.E. regarding visas, vaccinations, climate, clothing, baggage, special equipment, etc. is purely advisory, provided as a courtesy to the Client and W.E. is not responsible for any errors or omissions as to the information provided by third parties such as the appropriate governmental authorities.

Claims + Complaints

If a Client has a complaint against W.E., the Client must first inform the Retreat Leader or guide at the earliest opportunity to allow the grievance to be rectified. If satisfaction is not reached, contact W.E. whilst on retreat in order that W.E. is provided the opportunity to rectify the matter. Failure to indicate dissatisfaction whilst on retreat will result in the Client’s ability to claim compensation from W.E. being extinguished or at least reduced. If satisfaction is still not reached through these means on retreat then any further complaint must be put in writing to W.E. within 30 days of the end of the trip.

Client Responsibility

The Client acknowledges he or she will be visiting places where the political, cultural and geographical attributes may present certain risks, dangers and physical challenges greater than those present in her daily life. By booking travel with W.E., the Client acknowledges she has considered the potential risks, dangers and challenges, and expressly assumes the risks attendant to such travel conditions. The Client is solely responsible for acquainting themselves with customs, weather conditions, physical challenges, and laws in effect at each stop along the itinerary, and is encouraged to locate or make contact prior to embarkation with her local embassy or consulate at the trip destination.

Suppliers + Independent Contractors

Hotels, shuttle services, excursions or other elements of a Women Escape retreat will be arranged by W.E. with local suppliers who may themselves engage the services of local operators and/or sub-contractors. W.E. will at all times endeavor to appoint reputable and competent local suppliers. The terms and conditions of the suppliers will be applicable. These may limit or exclude the liability of the supplier. The liability of W.E. will not exceed that of any supplier. Local laws and regulations of the relevant country will be relevant in assessing the performance of the services of any supplier. Neither W.E. nor any carrier is liable for independent contractors.

Safety + Trip Enjoyment

We take your safety and well-being very seriously. However, you are ultimately responsible for your safety, which is why we ask all retreat participants to sign a liability waiver before departure. To avoid possibly dangerous situations, it is extremely important that you obey any rules and regulations imposed by the W.E. Retreat Leaders and/or Local Guides and instructions given by them.

W.E. reserves the right to prohibit any Client from continuing on a trip with no right of refund if, in our opinion, that Client’s actions pose a threat to the safety of them, others, or to the wildlife, or if that Client’s actions or behaviors are seriously jeopardizing the enjoyment of the trip for others. The decision of the W.E. Retreat Leader or representative will at all times be final on all matters likely to affect the safety and well-being of the trip. All Clients must, at all times, strictly comply with the laws, customs, foreign exchange and drug regulations of all countries visited, and W.E. will not accept responsibility or liability for any Client who contravenes any laws or other regulations of any country visited.

Health + Fitness

Most W.E. trips should not be overly strenuous for people who are healthy and reasonably fit. All travelers are expected to carry their own bags. If you (or anyone on whose behalf you are booking) are affected by any condition, medical or otherwise, that might affect your or other people’s enjoyment of the trip, you must advise us of this at the time of booking. If your health or fitness changes between the time of booking and the trip departure date, you must notify the W.E. office of these changes before the trip starts.

Retreat Itinerary Changes

Women Escape and its partners reserve the right to alter retreat programs and itineraries due to weather or road conditions. These programs may be changed or canceled at any moment during the trip to assure the safety of our clients and staff. No responsibility is accepted for losses, expenses due to delays, changes of flights or other services because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in schedules or other similar causes. Women Escape and its partners do not assume responsibility for accidents or deaths that can be traced to the participants’ negligence, acts of third parties or exterior circumstances such as weather, natural occurrences, war or other similar causes.

Data Protection

To ensure that retreats run smoothly, W.E. needs to use personal information (such as name, address, special needs, health conditions, dietary requirements etc.) provided by Clients to W.E., and also pass on such information to other outfitters/guides or suppliers involved in the operation of the trip. W.E. will apply appropriate security measures to protect such personal data and will only pass on data that is applicable to outfitters or suppliers responsible for the retreat. By completing the W.E. Retreat Booking Form, Clients consent to this information being transferred as required.

W.E. is not responsible for any improper or non-performance of any services forming part of the Contract which are wholly attributable to the fault of the Client, the unforeseeable or unavoidable act or omission of a third party unconnected with the provision of any services to be provided under the Contract; unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of W.E. and/or the relevant supplier, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised including (but not limited to) an event of force majeure; or any event which W.E. and/or the relevant supplier could not even with all due care have foreseen or forestalled.

In the event that W.E. is responsible for any death, injury or illness caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of its suppliers of services which form part of the Contract then W.E. limits its liability.

Acceptance of Risk

The Client acknowledges that the nature of the retreat is adventurous and may involve a significant amount of personal risk. The Client hereby assumes all such risk and does hereby release W.E. from all claims and causes of action arising from any damages or injuries or death resulting from these inherent risks. The Client is required to sign W.E.’s RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT. Please read carefully. Your registration will not be complete until this release is signed. You will receive an email with a link to this waiver upon payment.

In the event that any term or condition contained herein is unenforceable or void by operation of law or as being against public policy or for any other reason than such term or condition shall be deemed to be severed from this Agreement or amended accordingly only to such extent necessary to allow all remaining Terms and Conditions to survive and continue as binding.
